The main goal of the Textile Arts Center is to provide support to fiber artists, designers, and everyday people interested in working with fiber, by acting as a resource facility and creative meeting place.

Since its founding in mid-2009, the Textile Arts Center offers multiple ways in which the public can participate in the textile arts. Through classes, workshops, exhibitions, and special events, the Textile Arts Center aims to preserve ancient handcrafts and techniques, while enabling paritcipants to fit such processes into contemporary life.

Our Locations

Our Brooklyn studio, at 4000 sq ft, is a full-equipped workspace designed for the serious textile enthusiast. Here, we house state of the art equipment, as well as dedicated gallery space, an Artist Residency program, and resource library.

Our Greenwiich Village storefront is small, but beautiful. With exposed brick, and tall ceilings, this 900 sq ft studio is cozy, but full of energy. Classes and workshops for both kids and adults explore much of the same topics as Brooklyn, while the main entrance will serve as retail.
