Day of Service : Knit A Boob Workshop
On Friday, May 6, 2011 Viacom offers it's thousands of employees a change do to a Viacommunity Day of Service in lieu of a day of work.
The list is long, but now Viacom will add knitting to the list for employees and anyone who wants to join! (some experience is preferred!)
Oak Knit Studio presents a day-long 'knit-a-boob' workshop!
We will be knitting prosthetic boobs for patients and survivors of breast cancer who have lost their breasts to surgery. The pattern is inspired by Beryl Tsang, a knitter and cancer survivor who started knitting her own prostheses and began Titbits.
In addition, the prostheses will be lovingly donated to BreastCancer.org. So, if you know how to knit this is a great way to take part in a wonderful day of service.
If you are a skilled knitter, or knitting instructor, please let us know if you would like to volunteer for the day -- we will need many hands to help teach, stuff, and finish!
Please choose from the following time slots:
9-11AM
10:30-12:30PM
2-4PM
3:30-5:30PM
