Studio Intern
Textile Arts Center seeks (2) highly motivated Studio Interns who will provide assistance to the Studio Managers of our Brooklyn or Manhattan location. Candidates be able to commit to 15-20 hours per week in exchange for class and studio time, as well as school credit. There is no getting coffee here -- interns will work on projects of interest and gain in-depth knowledge.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Cleaning and organization of studio as directed
- Inventory, sourcing, ordering, and budgeting as needed
- Dressing/loom maintenance as needed
- Aid with Residency Program as needed (library inventory, cleaning)
- Specific projects based on interns interests and desires for learning
Competitive candidates will: have knowledge of textile media (screen printing, knitting, sewing, dyeing, etc); must know how to weave; have basic knowledge of Microsoft office; have a strong interest in textiles/arts/crafts; previous experience in studio maintenance a plus.
